Why Reiki?
Reiki is a gentle wellbeing practice that began in Japan and is centred on creating balance and relaxation. The word “Reiki” is often described as meaning universal life energy, and the practice is based on the idea that when we feel calmer and more balanced, our overall sense of wellbeing can improve. During a session, a practitioner places their hands lightly on or just above the body, allowing the person receiving Reiki to fully rest in a quiet, supportive environment.
Rather than focusing on symptoms or problems, Reiki is about the experience of slowing down and tuning in. Many people notice a deep sense of relaxation, warmth, or calm during a session, while others simply enjoy the peaceful pause from daily life. Reiki doesn’t require any special belief or effort — you can arrive just as you are and let the session be a chance to rest, reset, and reconnect with yourself.
